Experience Learning in Action: Globe Cambridge School Hosts Its October Open House

As Toronto’s independent K–12 school, Globe Cambridge School (GCS) is redefining what it means to learn, grow, and lead in today’s world.

On Saturday, October 25, 2025 (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM), GCS will open its doors to families across North York and the Greater Toronto Area for a creative, community-centered Open House designed to showcase the school’s unique approach to learning — one that balances academic excellence, confidence-building, and real-world engagement.

🌱 A Glimpse into a World-Class Learning Environment

The Open House offers families the opportunity to experience GCS’s inquiry-based and student-centered philosophy firsthand.

Visitors will explore the school’s modern classrooms, arts studios, and collaborative learning spaces while meeting teachers, administrators, and current students who embody the GCS spirit of curiosity and compassion.

“Our mission at GCS is to educate the whole child,” says Dr. Peter Zavodny, Principal of Globe Cambridge School.

“We believe that confidence and creativity are not separate from academic achievement — they are the foundation of it.

When students are seen, supported, and challenged, they don’t just succeed in school; they thrive beyond it.”

🎨 A Creative Highlight: “Brushstrokes of Confidence” Art Workshop

One of the day’s most anticipated moments will be the Art Adventure Workshop, titled “Brushstrokes of Confidence.”

Designed for children in Grades 1–12, this hands-on art experience invites young learners to paint people and animals through both abstract and realistic styles — exploring imagination, focus, and self-expression under the guidance of Ontario Certified art educators.

Each participant will create an original artwork to take home.

Parents will be invited to enjoy guided campus tours and connect directly with the GCS faculty, learning how small-class education and personalized mentorship make a lasting difference in every child’s development.

🌍 Beyond the Classroom: Building Confidence, Compassion, and Global Perspective

At Globe Cambridge School, education extends far beyond the walls of a classroom.

Students engage in leadership development, artistic exploration, athletic programs, and community service initiatives that foster empathy and resilience.

This “Beyond the Classroom” philosophy — central to the GCS experience — ensures that each student discovers their strengths while learning to lead with kindness and purpose.

“The GCS difference is not just what we teach, but how we help students connect learning to life,” says Dr. Zavodny.

“Our goal is to cultivate lifelong learners who are curious about the world and confident in their place within it.”

🏫 An Invitation to Experience the GCS Difference

Families attending the October 25 Open House will gain a firsthand understanding of what sets Globe Cambridge apart among Toronto private schools:

small class sizes (7:1 student-to-faculty ratio), individualized learning, inquiry-driven academics, and a welcoming multicultural community that reflects the city it serves.

Admission to the event is free, but space in the Art Workshop is limited and advance registration is required.
