How are community service activities arranged?
Community service/community time is part of Ontario’s education system. The purpose is to promote a good civic experience for participants, enable them to actively participate in community activities, support young people to develop new skills, and encourage them to recognize and understand citizens in the process of assuming responsibility responsibility. Because in the process of community service, students can participate in dedication and strengthen the social cause they are interested in. These activities complement the academic work of students and provide them with "work" experience in fields they may wish to pursue in the future.
Our teachers and myself will 100% help students find volunteer positions and place them in voluntary positions. These positions will be reviewed by myself (the principal) to ensure safety and promote learning.
Every time a student “work” in a position, the principal will sign the form with the volunteer placement instructor (the person who volunteers for or with him) on behalf of the student to ensure the true participation of the student.
The principal will also follow up the work of each volunteer to ensure that students not only accumulate their volunteer time, but also actively participate in community activities.
Students can participate in more than one such voluntary activities to accumulate their activity time or experience various activities.
Community activities may take place outside the school (local companies, libraries) or inside the school (volunteer organization of school trips, organization of fundraising, etc.).
Some examples of student volunteer community activities: volunteering in community public libraries or theaters; instructing elderly or young students to learn how to use the Internet; instructing children's basketball teams in local community centers; helping teachers organize school games/concerts, etc. .
